When Squarespace is the better choice

Choose Squarespace if how the site looks is the product — a photographer, a restaurant with a room worth showing, a designer's portfolio. Its templates are better than Plysk's and it is not close. Plysk is for the business whose website needs to state the facts and be found.

Questions people ask

Is there a free Squarespace alternative?

Plysk has a free plan that publishes a real site on a plysk.site address with no card, which Squarespace does not — it offers a trial. The free plan carries a small "made with plysk.com" badge.

Why is Plysk cheaper?

It does less. There is no shop, no booking system, no blog yet, and no app ecosystem. The parts that remain — pages, a domain, a mailbox, a contact form — are cheap to run because a published site is static files on a CDN rather than an application.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes, on any paid plan. You can connect a domain you already own, or have one registered for you; on the annual plans that include it, the renewal is paid for as long as the plan stays annual.

Try it without paying

The free plan publishes a real site on a plysk.site address. No card, and nothing to uninstall if you decide against it.
